North West Ireland Golf Tour

In times gone by, the North West of Ireland was branded as the "value" region for golf vacations to the Emerald Isle. In recent years, the stature of these courses has soared and it would be unfair to label this region as simply a good value destination when in fact, many of the courses here are as good (or better) then their better-known peers.

Getting to the north west of Ireland is a similar duration from either Dublin or Shannon Airport. You won't encounter wait lists or availability issues at many of these courses and if you have done the other great golfing regions, this should definitely be on your radar for a future trip.

You could quite easily come to Ireland and focus on this region alone. Donegal for example, has the most links courses of all the counties of Ireland, some of which are resorts with two courses on site such as the excellent Rosapenna and Ballyliffin.

An abundance of options....

The recommended courses on a first trip to this region are laid out in the itinerary below but, we recommend also taking note of the following;
  • Galway Bay Golf Club (Christy O'Connor Jr links design)
  • Connemara Golf Links (Ballyconneely)
  • Strandhill Golf Club
  • Portsalon Golf Club
  • Narin & Portnoo Golf Club

All good things must come to an end...unfortunately!
