For years the North West of Ireland was considered the value region for links golf vacations to the Emerald Isle. The stature of these courses has soared and it would be unfair to label this region as a good value destination when in fact, many of the courses here are as good as their better known peers.
Getting to the north west of Ireland is a similar duration from either Dublin Airport or Shannon Airport. You won't encounter wait lists or availability issues at many of these courses and if you have done the other great golfing regions, this should be on your radar for a future trip. Some of the courses to include on an itinerary to the north west are as follows and you can also add one or two from the area you arrive/depart - Dublin or Shannon:
You could quite easily come to Ireland and focus on some of these regions alone - Donegal for example is a big county with numerous links courses - Some with two courses such as Rosapenna and Ballyliffin.
